While browsing the local flea markets (looking for vintage science fiction books
and some new old dishes) I realised that quite a large amount of religious
paintings, framed images and other objects related to Christianity were up for sale.
I found that pretty strange and wondered, whether the German Pope had anything
to do with it. Like religious objects being a big seller now or something.
Anyhow, I kept spotting these things and decided to start and buy two-dimensional
images of Jesus, paintings and prints alike, preferrable framed. I also decided that
I would offer them sanctuary in my home in Stuttgart, put them up on the walls and
create a little project around it.
This was in summer 2007.
PS: I should add, maybe, that I am not religious, let alone baptized. I'm in fact what
they call a completely impartial agnostic.
