Livin' With Jesus
BUYING JESUS

The first objects I bought exclusively on flea markets near my home town Neu-Ulm
in Germany, starting in September 2007.

As it got colder, these opportunities got scarcer and I got a little impatient. So I
looked for other sources and obviously ended up on ebay, defining it as the
ultimate online flea market.

WIth two sources handy, the next step was to decide on whether I wanted to buy all
images of Jesus or whether I should leave some. My initial restriction had been
images, i.e. flat paintings or prints to be hung on the wall. Naturally there are two or
three exceptions to that rule.

As for motives, style and age of the images I was worried for a while. How should
one decide for or against certain objects? The result was to trust my guts with Jesus:
I only bought images that felt right or that I just had to have.

Up comes the financial situation. While not being too restricted, I decided that
images that exceeded a budget of 100 EUR where not really flea market material
but collectibles. Which made them fall through, unfortunately (missed some nice
ones) and luckily (saved me loads of money).
