GUESTS OF DAY 07 - April 23rd
Three guests have visited me tonight: Nina Grams, Florian Naroska and
Marion Naroska (his sister in law). It turned
out to be the longest evening in the project so far, with my guests leaving
at shortly before midnight.
To be honest, we haven't been talking about Jesus all that time. But we
have been talking about him and about religion for quite some time. It
was interesting that while we were talking about the various motives,
Florian interrupted the two others to say somethning like how he found
it strange that they didn't know very much about the topic (i.e. Jesus,
Christianity etc.) although they claimed to be Christians. He himself
doesn't want anything to do with it.
Still he seemed to enjoy looking at the Jesus images 8he is doing just
that in the picure, in the back on the sofa). Which may be a result of
his passion for graphic novels. In his favourite Jesus he even detected
a skull. It is visible when you look at it from a certain angle: Suddenly,
the face of Jesus turns into a skull due to the finish of the print. Or
into something, somewhat resembling a skull. Occupation-wise, he surely
is one of the most interesting guests so far. He is a "soldier",
meining he is in the German army. That fact in itself is quite unusual
(in Germany, at least), but he is also a water polo player and I believe
he will play at the Olympic Games in Beijing.
Nina, who is one of my colleagues was the first one to pick one of the
more "abstract" Jesus images as her favourite. On the far wall,
beneath the large image, you can see two smaller ones. They belong together
and it depicts the Wedding at Canaa. The inage on the right is the scenery,
the one on the left is the people, which you need to apply yourself ...
Marion (way in the front) was the first one to pick a favourite Jesus
that someone else has taken. She decided on the psychedelic Jesus you
can see a corner of on the bottom left corner in the photograph.
I have to admit that this evening sort of disappeared in a haze, as we
were drinking quite a lot. And apart from the fact that Nina took a bunch
of pictures (which I will upload to flickr later) I only seem to remember
that either Nina or Marion detected a clear sexual connotation in one
of the images ...
