"A Reni copy"

This is another copy of a motive by Guido Reni, at least that's what the inscription says on the oil painting. For 15 Euros I think this was quite a bargain as the painting looks really nice and the frame has been selected really well, with matching colours and averything.

The hair however is quite curly and looks more like a wig in some areas. Not sure about how the neck flows over into the body.

This is one of the motives that express the suffering of Christ in a way that is stzill suitable for your average living room. Maybe not if this is the only picture you're putting up but in my opinion it is a clear case of "decorative religious painting".
