| JESUS # 22 - May
19th "Jesus aux noces de Cana" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is a funny one. "Great events in history" as a rub-on stickerama from France. Over 100 people and things need to be rubbed onto the panorama by hand. Which takes quite a lot of time! I started doing it in photoshop and I'm still not done! Maybe rubbing the things on in reality goes faster but I honestly doubt it. I might make a small time-lapse movie of that one. This is one of the Jesus images I bought that convinced me that my project is completely OK to do in the way I want to do it. If even among the "half serious" out there, items like the one on the right are commonly available, then I can live with Jesus, too, without hurting anyones feelings (I'm such a softy, you know). This is one of my favourites in the collection. Jesus has the # 68. Why isn't he number 1? And why is he so blonde? And why does he look like a roman or a wiking? And why do they ask people to rub on the cups? And what are the other items featured in the series "Great events in History"? I can tell you a few: "Mon Zoo" by Jean Richard in french, "St. Louis et le crociate" (italian), "Biancaneve" (italian), "La petit chaperon rouge" (french). The internet has no information on the company and the only search results are ebay auctions for similar items. A lot of my visitors love this one because it reminds them of their childhood, when rub-ons like that were more comonly seen than today. |
