JESUS # 32 - June 18th


"Jesus Wax"

This one has an interesting story. The ebay-seller told me the image was from a small chappel. Having acloser look, I realized it is actually a small image in wooden frame, with the Jesus applied later on with double sided adhesive tape.

The image is covered in wax, I assume it used to hang behind some candles. Whenever the candles were blown out, small drops (and one large one) landed on the picture, mixing with the candle smoke, giving it it's distinct patina.

Whether it was used in a religious way or maybe in a "satanic way" (why else the dark coloured candles?) is pure speculation. And I love speculation. It's what Christianity and this whole project are based upon.

By the way, this Jesus has also been nicknamed "Marilyn Manson" by one of my visitors. So he is now a buddy of "Barry White" and "Aramis" ...
