JESUS # 47 - July 28th


"He's Not Listening"

I bought this one very early in the project when my wife and me were visiting a flea market near our hometown. Apart from the fact that is a rather uncommon motive of Jesus as a young boy, it is full of illogical things.

The tools Joseph is using did not exist in that time (or so a professional told me). Even the architecture is all wrong (another professional told me, it may be wrong). Then no one could figure out what on earth Jospeh is trying to build there.

And then Jesus is just the average boy, not listening at all to what his dad is telling him. He's just gazing out into the landscape, wondering about ... oh well ... this is supposed to be Jesus, he could be thinking about all sorts of things ...
